This picture of Earhart sitting in her Lockheed Vega, the same aircraft in which she made her famous transatlantic voyage, was featured in the Annual Solemn Memorial Eucharist program. The caption read, "Amelia, still wearing her leather flying suit, tired but triumphant, upon completion of her Atlantic Ocean solo. Credit: Smithsonian Institution" This caption, indicating the photo was taken in May on 1932, contradicts the 1936 inscription on the the photograph's bottom margin.
