Nancy Harkness Love, Commanding Officer of the original Women's Auxiliary Ferry Squadron (WAFS), as she supervised the check rides of the WAFS at New Castle Army Air Base, Wilmington, Delaware on September 22, 1942. The patch on her jacket was that worn by all in the Air Transport Command.
