Description
On 2 July 1966 a bronze plaque inscribed with the first two versus of Earhart's poem "Courage is the Price" was placed at the top of a mountain in Yosemite National Park. Rocketdyne Mountaineering Club member Gordon Palmer had chosen this mountain to be named after Amelia Earhart. The photo display pictured here is of Earhart and the club responsible for her mountain memorization. It was later displayed at Burbank Air show on 17-18 September 1966.
