Description
A portrait of Betty Miller, the first woman to fly solo across the Pacific Ocean in 1963. Miller was also one of the women who accepted the invitation to undergo astronaut testing at the Lovelace Clinic. Unfortunately, Miller did not pass the tests. The thirteen women that did pass these tests later became known as the Mercury 13.
