Reproductions & Permissions
The International Women’s Air & Space Museum (IWASM) grants permission for the reproduction of its images, text, and archival material for a variety of purposes. All such uses require the requestor to obtain written permission from the IWASM, and some require a fee. Such fees assist with the long-term care and stewardship of the Collections. IWASM reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny permission to reproduce an image to any requestor without explanation.
Overview of Digital Reproductions
You can request a digital reproduction image file, or permissions, for an item by filling out the form on the "Contact Us" page or by emailing collections@iwasm.org.
Things to know:
- Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for order processing. Turnaround time may be quicker if the item is already digitized and available through this site.
- Provide as much detail as possible about the item, i.e. if you know the object/photo identifier number, where you found the image, any physical description of the item, a link if possible. This helps our staff to more efficiently process your request.
- For items that are not already digitized, please allow an additional 2 weeks processing time for staff to locate, photograph, and create the digital file.
- IWASM has one full-time collections staff member. While we will do our best to accommodate your deadlines, we are a small organization juggling many projects. With that in mind, please reach out well in advance of your deadlines whenever possible.
Reproduction fees:
- Fees vary depending on the number of images requested, the labor required to digitize, the preservation needs of the item, and more. Please reach out to the Collections Manager for a specific quote or for any questions about our fee structure.
Making a payment:
- You will receive an invoice via email for your reproductions order. You can pay via credit card by calling our offices at 216-623-1111 or via check made out to "International Women's Air & Space Museum" and mailed to 1501 N. Marginal Road, Suite 165, Cleveland, OH 44114.
- You can also pay electronically via secure ACH or credit card payment through our Square point of sale system.
Getting your reproductions:
- Once payment has been made, you will receive a Google Drive link with your materials. You will have 2 weeks in which to download and save your materials. If you experience any difficulty accessing or saving your materials, please let the Collections Manager know.
